Hole 2 – Par 4

Hole Description:
Heading away from the clubhouse this hole has changed a ot over the years.
Two fairway bunkers and an out of bounds to the right force you towards the bloated left side.
Big hitters can catch the trees however so another tactical drive is needed here.
The green is one of the smallest on the course with gardens to the right and long so accuracy is important.

Pro's Tip:
Try and get a good drive off and leave yourself a short approach shot.
The green is on top of a hill so you will need to know your distances.
Go long and risk a tricky chip shot over a path and green surround.

3rd Hole - Sponsored By The Physiotherapy Clinic

Hole 3 – Par 4

Hole Description:
A straight par 4 that tempts players to be aggressive off the tee. However, with a fairway lined by trees and a path, accuracy is paramount. The green is slightly elevated and well-guarded, making approach shots challenging. Miss the green and you're looking at a tricky chip.

Pro's Tip:
Resist the urge to overpower this hole. A well-placed tee shot will leave a manageable approach. Pay close attention to the pin position, as the green has subtle breaks that can catch you off guard.

3rd Hole Flyover

4th Hole - Sponsored By

Hole 4 – Par 5

Hole Description:
A reachable par 5 for longer hitters, but not without its risks. The fairway narrows significantly near the landing area, with trees encroaching on both sides and fairway bunkers. The appraoch has ahidden water hazzard across the fairway and up the left hand side. Going for the green in two can be tempting but with out of bounds just yards from the back of the green it could be costly.

Pro's Tip:
Positioning is key. A drive to the center of the fairway off the tee gives yourself options. If going for the green in two, ensure you have the distance and accuracy to avoid the hazards. The bunkers at the front of the green will catch any low approach shots. Otherwise, lay up and rely on your wedge game.

5th Hole - Sponsored By

Hole 5 – Par 4

Hole Description:
Trees line both sides of the fairway, and out of bounds over the wall right and towards the grounds keepers hut.
A well struck drive should position you at the top of the hill and big hitters can get a kick down towards the green.
A large but flat green gives a good scoring opportunity.

Pro's Tip:
Sometimes a clear shot from the top of the hill is better than a tricky downhill lie.
For your approach shot, take into consideration the elevation and club down.

6th Hole - Sponsored By Xcede IT

Hole 6 – Par 4

(PLEASE BE AWARE OF PLAYER PLAYING THIS HOLE AND GIVE WAY)
Be ready for a long shot in for the approach.
The green is very elevated with a pronounced slope from back to front.

Pro's Tip:
Play a controlled fade off the tee to follow the contour of the hole.

A road to your right and houses and out of bounds long.
Club selection here is important.

Pro's Tip:
Hitting the green at all is a huge bonus, the well protected green offers little chance to get up and down.
Aim for the middle and hope for the two putt.

7th Hole Flyover

8th Hole - Sponsored By PRECISION FIRE & SECURITY

Hole 8 – Par 4

Hole Description:
A slight right to left hole with internal out of bounds down the left.
It's easy to end up in thick rough to the right as well.
The fairway is made up of several hills and undulations meaning a flat lie is unlikely.
Getting towards the first fairway hill give you a clear view of the green situated on a raised mound.
Bunkers and mounds surround the green so knowing your distance here is very important.

Pro's Tip:
It's the perfect hole for a draw off the right side of the fairway, there is little or nothing to gain by taking a tiger line down the out of bounds.
Find the fairway to give yourself a chance at hitting this very tight green.
Any approach shot that slightly overshoots often kicks off the protective mounds and you can end up suffering for it.
Extra Tip - Take note of where the 9th flag is while on the 8th Tee

8th Hole Flyover

9th Hole - Sponsored By PRECISION FIRE & SECURITY

Hole 9 – Par 4

Hole Description:
There is no internal out of bounds going back up this hole, however landing on the wrong side of the trees here blocks out your second shot.
It's a long hole with one of the biggest greens on the course sloping away from your approach towards houses and out of bounds.
You can see the half way hut to the right of the green.

Pro's Tip:
Getting your tee shot onto the top level of the fairway gives you a distinct advantage.
There are mounds across the front of the green so you need to carry these up hill.
Remember, you could be looking at a long putt on this green to take note of where the flag is.
Extra Tip - Take note of where the 10th flag is while on the 9th Tee

9th Hole Flyover

10th Hole - Sponsored By Cowell & Norford

Hole 10 – Par 4

Hole Description:
After a coffee and snack you're greeted by what looks like an easy start to the back nine.
A wide fairway welcomes you however a protected and raised green requires thought.
The fairway has rolling undulations and even a straight shot can take a nasty kick.
The green has mounds around its sides and rear, if you miss the target you will be left with a tricky and possibly blind chip.

Pro's Tip:
Start the back nine safe, a wood or iron off the tee can be more than enough club.
Leave yourself a full shot in. A big drive can leave you too close with a blind shot up to the raised green.

10th Hole Flyover

11th Hole - Sponsored By Fiona Daly Wills & Wishes

Hole 11 – Par 4

Hole Description:
One of the toughest holes on the course.
Starting with a daunting drive over the public pathway and up the hill towards two fairway bunkers.
The rugby pitches lining the right hand side of the hole are all out of bounds.
A large green slopes away from you and drops off to another path at the back of the hole.

Pro's Tip:
With a very tight fairway sometimes laying up behind the fairway bunkers can be the best play.
Trees left and right could add multiple shots to your score, keep it simple.
When the course gets dry, the best option is to land short of the green and let the ball roll out.
Theres nothing for going long.

11th Hole Flyover

12th Hole Sponsored By Ape Scaffolding

Hole 12 – Par 3

Hole Description:
The shortest hole on the course but by no means an easy par 3.
With multiple large bunkers and paths surrounding the green there's plenty to catch you out.
Note: Keep an eye out for members of the public walking the path, they have right of way.

Pro's Tip:
Try not to take on flags tucked near bunkers or at the front of the green, it's easy to leave yourself short sided in sand.

12th Hole Flyover

13th Hole Sponsored by

Hole 13 – Par 5

Hole Description:
The longest hole on the course and a narrow hole with out of bounds down the right.
Only the bravest and most accurate players can go for this hole in two. Many never make it.

With a drain splitting the fairway and another protecting the front of the green it's easy to drop shots.

The green is a small target with bunkers either side. Land short and you're likely to roll back into the drain.

Pro's Tip:
For most golfers it takes at least 3 good shots to make this green.
Play for position and avoid being greedy.

14th Hole Sponsored By

Hole 14 – Par 3

Hole Description:
Rochdale's Amen Corner, If you can survive the 13th green you now have a short but tricky par 3 where the wind swirls.
Depending on conditions and flag position the shot could be a few clubs different day to day.
The green is longer than it looks but keeping the ball on it can be tricky.

Pro's Tip:
The front of the green slopes away and the front bucker can be hard to get out of.
Play for the middle or back of the green where possible. Even if it leaves you a downhill putt.

14th Hole Flyover

15th Hole Sponsored By

Hole 15 – Par 4

Hole Description:
A left to right tee shot needed on this hole to gain good position.
A fairway that dive into the valley and back up to a small landing zone with large trees blocking the right hand side off the tee.
The drain from the 13th hole continues across parts of this hole and tracks up the right hand side.
Bigger hitters can bring the drain and wall higher up across the end of the fairway into play.

Pro's Tip:
You don't want to be playing a blind shot from the bottom of the valley if you can help it.
Find a club that can get you up the slope. Aim for the small section of wall you can see in the distance.

15th Hole Flyover

16th Hole Sponsored By

Hole 16 – Par 4

Hole Description:
A straight tree lined hole with two fairway bunkers to keep you on your toes.
Getting caught in the trees will block your angle to the green in nearly all instances.
Two large bunkers make the entrance to the green very narrow and if you go long, there are only a few yards before the back fence.

Pro's Tip:
Take a club that can lay up behind the bunkers.
This removes a lot of the trouble and leaves only a short shot into the green.

16th Hole Flyover

17th Hole Sponsored by Andy P Collins - Wealth Management

Hole 17 – Par 4

Hole Description:
Two very different tee shots depending on whether you are playing of yellows or whites.
The challenging white tee presents a blind drive needing height over the yellow tee to another tree lined fairway.
With distance isn't an issue from the whites but the mature trees and out of bounds left require accuracy to avoid.

From the yellow and red tees the fairway looks wide open but drives can run out into the drain protecting the green.

With ditches, drains and bunkers around all sides of the green, this is one of the courses tightest approach shots.
Even more so when you have a good score going.

Pro's Tip:
Another hole where a short fairway finder should leave you with an acceptable approach shot in.
With so many hazards around the green you do not want to be playing from under a tree or out of the rough if you want to make par.

17th Hole Flyover

18th Hole Sponsored By Ape Scaffolding

Hole 18 – Par 4

Hole Description:
A great and testing finishing hole.
Practice ground to the right and trees down the left it's all uphill to the finish line.
It needs multiple good hits to get to the green in regulation.
A large bunkers rests on the horizon of the hill catching anyone not getting enough air on their approach shots.
A long sloping green awaits you, where coming away with a two putt is a bonus.

Pro's Tip:
When making your approach shot, short right is the safe shot.
It's out of bounds around the back of the green on all sides and a bunker front left.

Oh, and watch out for the club house and car park to the left, the spectators on the balcony can add pressure!
